Education

I am currently studying at Leiden University College in The Hague which is an interdisciplinary Liberal Arts and Science honors college. I am majoring in BSc Governance, Economics, and Development with a minor in Global Public Health. My study program focuses on Global Challenges which are divided into 4 topics: Diversity, Sustainability, Peace & Justice, and Prosperity. Additionally, I am studying at the Leiden University Honors Program in the Faculty of Governance and Global Affairs.

Experience

I want to be a tutor because I love to plan, organize, and work togehter with students in order to see what would work best for them, particularly by developing study methods. Throughout my IB education I tutored in IB biology, english, history, and economics. Since then I also have experience in tutoring geography and the Extended Essay (in different subjects). I graduated in 2020 from the IB diploma program in Lund, Sweden with a score of 39 points and 766 in my higher levels. I studied English Language and Literature HL, History HL, Economics HL, Biology SL, Math SL, and Spanish SL. I recieved an award for Economics and my Extended Essay in History focusing on Apartheid in South Africa. Prior to this I completed 4 years of the IB middle years program, from MYP2 to MYP5, where I scored highest in my class as a final score. Due to this I have been assistant teacher for the MYP for 2 years.

Hobbies

I am a member of my college's Student Association, Fortuna, and the Women, Innovation, and Leadership association. I have been the producer of one of the biggest events of our University College, The Pantomime, which is a theater event fully student-led. I love to visit Museums around the Netherlands to get to learn about new and unique topics with hands-on learning. Additionally, I love to listen to podcasts on a variety of topics from economics to current affairs. I am passionate about experiencing different cultures and meeting people from all over the world. This stems from my life as an expat where I lived in the Netherlands, Sweden, the United States, and Russia.
