Experience
- Tutoring During my last year and throughout my gap year I was given the opportunity to tutor several students English and Philosophy in grades nine through eleven. This was perhaps my most rewarding teaching experience because I thoroughly enjoyed building a strong one-on-one relationship with each student, in an effort to better understand their individual strengths and weaknesses in each subject. I also felt it was a much more satisfying experience because I was able to see each student progress with each session. - Teaching Over the summer I also had the chance to spend three weeks in Romania teaching English to students as young as five and six up to much older adults. This was a thrilling time because by the last week I had gathered enough skills and experience to run a classroom of nine to twelve year olds. This was also a fantastic chance to exercise my teaching so as to try and match the different abilities in each class. - Volunteering I have also completed a six week teaching experience course which entailed that I spent time in two different lessons once a week. My main role was to monitor the overall classroom behaviour and to give one-on-one help to any student that found it difficult to follow.
